Well...I spent most of the day in rehearsal preparing for our performance at the Ballunar Festival.  I am beat!  Less than 5 days now before I get the priviledge of performing in my hometown of Houston, Texas.  I've had several people ask if I'd be performing the new single, "Caylee's Eyes", and the answer is YES.  I am still so excited about that song, that I use every opportunity I get to share it.  There are also several songs from my last album, Second Chance, included in the show line-up.

 Only 12 days until my performance back in my hometown of Houston, Texas.  Super excited about getting to sing at the NASA / Johnson Space Center for the Ballunar Festival on October 22nd.  I've attended this festival in the past and it's always a fun time.  Can't wait to see all the Hot Air Balloons lit up under the moonlight.  Several years ago, I really wanted the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at this festival...who knew that only three years later I'd not only be singing the National Anthem but I'd be headlining the entertainment on Saturday night.  I hope everyone in the area gets to come out and dance under the starlight.  With the NASA Shuttle program coming to an end this year; I'm definitely going to take advantage of the NASA tours on Saturday during the festival.  Looking forward to seeing you all.

The first YouTube report just came across the wire.  This report really sat me back in my seat.  When I released "Caylee's Eyes", I knew that we were releasing it world-wide and I was really hoping that it would make an impact world-wide.  Well guess what...

The report shows that in LESS than two weeks (11 days to be exact), "Caylee's Eyes" has been viewed in 18 Countries across the world.  Check out this list:

  When I received the lyrics to "Caylee's Eyes" over a year ago and was presented with the opportunity to record it, one of my many major concerns was how the family members of Caylee would be impacted by the song and what their perspective would be in regards to the lyrics.  I've always wanted to make certain that I kept family members in the forefront of my mind as to insure that they did not feel disrespected.

  Since it's release only 5 days ago, I have received 100's of emails, messages & comments from people all over the world expressing their gratitude for recording such a symbolic song about Caylee Anthony and for using the song for a greater cause.  The kind words that people have so generously took the time to send me has been a very rewarding feeling and made me realize how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to sing "Caylee's Eyes".  Today,  the reality of just how much the song has impacted people came to light when I received two emails from Caylee Anthony family members expressing their gratitude.  Out of respect and privacy for the family members, I have chosen not to share the specifics.  However, I did want to publically say just how much this opportunity means to me.  I have learned so much about just how big of a problem Child Abuse & Neglect is not only in this country but around the world.

  I hope that everyone will help me share this message through song by spreading the word about "Caylee's Eyes" and encouraging people to download the song so that we can support organizations like Dreamcatchers for Abused Children and help make a difference in not only a child's life but the family members that are impacted by these tragedies.  Thank you all again for your sweet comments.  The song has currently been listened to and/or downloaded in over 400 cities across the globe and your help and support will keep the song spreading world-wide.

 I'm super excited.  Today is the official release of "Caylee's Eyes".  Today has been a full day of promoting the new release with the big CD Release party still to come tonight.  100% of the proceeds is being given to Dreamcatchers for Abused Children...to help educate the community & prevent Child Abuse & Neglect.

 After several months of preparation & work, the August 13th release of "Caylee's Eyes" is just around the corner.  We are excited for everyone to hear what we've been working so hard on.  We are even more anxious to get the song out there so that we can begin raising money & awareness for such a growing epedimic.  I recently heard of a double homicide of two children less than 5 years old in my hometown of Houston, Texas.  Both children's lives were taken by their mother.  We will never know or completely understand what provokes these types of tragedies.

 This type of news reassures me that the work we have put into this project is well worth it.  Supporting organizations like Dreamcatchers for Abused Children will help prevent these types of cases.  By educating parents on dealing with a variety of situations and by educating the public on signs / symptons to look for to prevent these tragedies they can provide education to the general public to reduce the amount of child abuse and neglect.

 Please support this cause by downloading "Caylee's Eyes" on August 13th and asking your local radio station to play the song in support of this cause.  I am eager to hear your feedback on the song, so please feel free to post messages on the Forums page of my website.

  Well the studio sessions for my new single, Caylee's Eyes is just about wrapped up.  The single is set to release in early August 2011.  I am so thrilled how this song has blossomed into something much bigger than ever expected.  We originally set out to do something simple & sweet as a tribute to Caylee Anthony; the daughter of Casey Anthony who lost her life a couple of years ago in Florida.

  Since writer, Cole Vosbury, presented me with the lyrics over a year ago, this idea has really taken off.  Our creative minds just couldn't stop.  It has turned into a huge studio production that gives me chills each time I listen to it.  We have now set to release the single for digital distribution on iTunes, Amazon & other online facets.  All of the money made from downloads is going to be donated to a national non-profit organization.  The statistics are mortifying.  There are over 3 children killed from Child Abuse everyday in this country.  If that doesn't make you want to help, I don't know what will.  I am very excited & honored to be a part of such a worthy cause!

  We have also been working on a music video to go along with the new song which has been an exciting journey as well.  The video will be behind the scenes footage of the recording sessions for Caylee's Eyes.  

   Keep your eyes & ears peeled for the release and make sure to download it so that we can raise money for a great organization.  We together can help prevent future tragedies like Caylee Anthony's.  I'll blog again soon with more details as they pass along to me.  Thanks for your support!
