SONG ABOUT CAYLEE ANTHONY TOUCHES THE HEARTS OF MANY
“Caylee’s Eyes” released to raise awareness & money for Child Abuse
We’ve all been glued to the TV for the last several months watching the murder trial of little Caylee Anthony. Graphic and heartbreaking details of Caylee's death stunned society and while this case has consumed our attention the last few years, child homicide and child abuse occurs daily in this country and is a growing epidemic.
Nashville Recording Artist & Houston native, Curtis Braly, recognizes this growing problem and is using his talent for a greater cause. “According to Child Protective Services, more than 3 million children are abused every year and that’s only what’s reported”, Curtis said. “Sadly enough, child abuse leads to more than 3 deaths every day in America.”
Just as the Casey Anthony trial closed, Curtis began working on a song that speaks to this tragedy, titled "Caylee’s Eyes". Cole Vosbury, a 17-year old Louisiana lyricist, pitched the song. “The day I read the lyrics I immediately got chills and my eyes filled with tears”, said Curtis. “I knew that this song would make a huge impact on society and would help raise awareness to Child Abuse & Neglect.”
Braly has just finished putting the final touches on "Caylee’s Eyes" scheduled for release on August 13, 2011. The song will be available for purchase & download on iTunes as well as several other online outlets. All proceeds will raise money for Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, a world-wide non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of violence against children.
“Victims who survive child abuse are more likely to engage in criminality later in life”, Braly says. “We as a society must join together to put a stop to this vicious cycle”.
