Curtis Braly and rapper Small Boss plan to drop new song in support of kids who are bullied
To kick off recording artist Curtis Braly’s transition from country to pop music, he recorded a new single, ‘One Day’ to be released July 12th. Braly wants his music to resonate with young adults who may be struggling with being bullied, like he did growing up in Texas. In an effort to expand the message to a broader audience, Braly decided to feature rap artist, Small Boss, on the soon to be released track.
“Starting in grade school, I was constantly bullied, harassed and beaten up on,” said Braly. As a young boy, Braly dreamed of being on the large stage. “After all the humiliation and bullying in school, I discovered that singing was a huge outlet for me and that I could actually entertain people.”
At 20, Braly took his country music act to Nashville. Since then, he’s toured the country with Tanya Tucker, shared the stage with Dolly Parton, and recorded albums of his own. Now he’s expanding his repertoire into pop music to draw a younger demographic. “My mission is to help people who are being bullied or feel they are discriminated against for who they are, especially kids.”
Small Boss, a New York based rapper began freestyling & writing his own lyrics at the early age of 7 and was excited to jump on this project with Curtis. “When I heard what Curtis’ mission was with this new track, I was hyped to be a part of it,” said Small Boss.
Braly started the R.U.B.Y Foundation (Respectful, United, & Brave Youth), which works with youth to not only end bullying but cope with the side effects of being a victim of bullying. His first pop single ‘One Day’ is about his wish for the world to come together in peace. “The song is being used to promote the cause as well as bring awareness to hate crime and all the proceeds go back into the foundation. I want the younger generation to hear my message because they’re the future leaders of this world.”
Recently he addressed the world via livestream on the United Nation’s “International Day of Living Together in Peace” expressing his life mission and has also created a web series documenting his training and transition into the “the new music and the new me,” which can be followed by fans on Thursday evenings on his social channels.
